The weather in Dallas is starting to turn cool (read- 50s) and it’s raining more often (read no longer required to pay for water on my grass), which implies that old man winter is finally coming to Texas. Granted, Texas winters are a lot like London summers but it’s not as nice as the spring and fall. Between the internal work for the firm and the somewhat dreary weather my attention is turning more and more to our upcoming trip to Australia.
Ah, Australia - warm breezes, great views of the ocean, Koala bears roaming the streets like dogs (they’ll just crawl into your lap if you’re in the park) … good times. The new found desire to implement big brother type web monitoring is a little concerning but the PM looks good on TV so it makes everything okay.
24 days until lift off
And around 39 days before Stuart and I build our Christmas tree with green and red bottles. I may even head out and find a little person to dress like an angel so we can put them on top of the tree. Hmm, I wonder if there’s a circus in town?
### Editors Note ###
Last month, I realized that sometimes when referencing locations I needed to put training wheels on my posts or some Mensa candidates willfully mark up their web printouts with propaganda.
Oz = Australia
Australia is not near Beckley, WV, as proof click here (please note the kayak across pacific portion.

I’m finally sitting at my house, at my desk, watching my bunnies in the yard, uh doing my work.
I loved going back to Morgantown last week to see my grandmother and to catch up with some old friends. But, I did miss actually seeing my house for those three days when Infosys says its okay to be at home.
If you were listening in, you know that last week was a success even if she who must not be named did make a total ass of herself, yet again. Rather than a horcrux or Avada Kedavra curse, I figure a little more chocolate and some bad decision making given ones age should sort the situation out in due course - so all is good.
I liked the audio-blogging, especially when on the go. Long trips provide little time to find an Internet connection but 12 hours in a car does provide some talk time.
It’s time to cut the grass … hmm… maybe a new audio blog - Al on grass. Wait …

Toss in your bets folks, the Martines have hit five years today. We’re currently enjoying margaritas at a river side bar after enjoying a nice day in the city.
Yesterday was fun. After arriving, we decided to see the Alamo and go up in the Tower of the Americas.
Tomorrow we go to see Shamoo and other fish friends.
Time for more drinks. Ahh, the good life.

East West bound and down, loaded up and truckin’,
we’re gonna do what they say can’t be done.
We’ve got a long way to go and a short time to get there.
I’m east bound, just watch ol’ “Bandit” run.
I’d prefer a black Trans-Am and an 18-wheeler looking for some Coors beer, but our Budget rental truck will do for now. Thanks to Married Man and Mrs M loading only took three hours.
Keep your foot hard on the pedal. Son, never mind them brakes. Let it all hang out ’cause we got a run to make.
The boys are thirsty in Atlanta and there’s beer in Texarcana Plano, TX.
And we’ll bring it back no matter what it takes.
Of course it only took two days to get us into that position.
Mrs. M and I have about three to four days of driving in front of us; then a search for an apartment, car, TV, washing machine, and a damn good coffee maker. It’s nice to be making a long trip that does require us loading up on US junk food and going through a security screening.

The blog may go radio-silent for a while. It really depends on which hotels have WI-FI access and which do not.
Since I’m back in the south, it’s okay to sign off
We’ll see ya, when we see ya
