London Business School Ranked #1, FT

Too early to challenge for a repeat?

Toxic Pens

I have a personal rule when it comes to working with teams or judging the effectiveness of a manager: be careful of the person who can’t spot the really important problem.  The house could be burning down, but these folks are more interested in watering the flowers.

If you find your manager (of if you’re this manager) seems to worry about the office furniture, when sales are slumping – be scared – be concerned – be gone as soon as freaking possible.

Today I received a call from FedEx asking if I was receiving a package from the UK.  As it happens, I am thanks to the London Business School Worldwide Celebration for Guinness on September 24th.  The nice people at LBS sent us a party pack, which appears to have toxic ink.  Now, I get to fill out form TSCA to approve the pens.

I started laughing when the lady told me that there could be an issue.  “Sir, this is serious.’”  Oh – yes of course.  We here in the US expect the finest ink in our pens.

Personally, if it isn’t the finest ink I don’t want them and apparently neither does the US government.

War.  Debt.  Healthcare.  The Economy.  Toxic Pens.

MBAT 3-peat

Word on the street (thanks Angel Angie) is that London Business School has retained the MBAT cup for another year.

Sorry Toro & IESE – no more USP. :)

Congratulations Peter and Melanie Conlon

Alissa and I want to send our heartfelt congratulations to the newest married couple on the block.

We weren’t able to make it to the big day but the World Sojourner photographer was able to sneak a couple pics…
