I’m sitting in the Qantas lounge waiting for the last few minutes to tick off before boarding my flight. The trip – like they all have been – has been great and I don’t want to return home. But, at last, it’s a necessary evil.
So, I have two flights (20+ hrs) and a cab ride before finding my bed back in Frisco. Hopefully the sleeping pills and copious amounts of wine should do the trick. Sadly, Mrs M won’t be there to apologize for me is staying in Oz a couple more weeks for some family and friends time.
Next stop – San Francisco

Let’s hope the reports aren’t true.

Away to the window I flew like a flash,
Tore open the shutters and threw up the sash.
The moon on the breast of the new-fallen snow
Gave the lustre of mid-day to objects below,
When, what to my wondering eyes should appear,
But a miniature sleigh, and eight tiny reindeer …

Pictures taken on Princes Highway near Bundeena, NSW
Google Map with Street View of sign
He sprang to his sleigh, to his team gave a whistle,
And away they all flew like the down of a thistle.
But I heard him exclaim, ere he drove out of sight,
"Happy Christmas to all, and to all a good-night."

I’m sitting at the Walker’s house (alleged relatives of the Walker’s shortbread people) enjoying a little downtime while Mrs M and B go see a friend of theirs. The trip is going quickly, but has provided a much needed break from the consulting universe.
The only sad thing is that I’m already a 1/3 through it. Ugh.
We leave the lovely Northern Beaches and head south to Alissa’s grandmothers for a few days. Then, back to Sydney to build some Christmas trees with Stuart. From there on to Narooma for Christmas.
Damn, it’s 5pm and I still haven’t had one or two glasses of wine. My hands may start shaking.
I have to catch one of the Kangaroos and grab a glass out of its pouch. Who knew those pouches were actually small coolers for the alcohol.
