Shawn was a close friend to my ex-husband, and he meant a lot to well everyone that he met I am sure, but he was very important to Kay (mother in-law). I am searching for pictures that any one would have of him, I am building a hometown hero's book for a project for one of my classes and I feel that Shawn is a Hero if you can help me out that would be great please feel free to email me at winklandsbaby@gmail.com
I hope to hear from the wonderful man that wrote this great article about a truly amazing person that will be loved and missed until the end of time
May God bless

I knew SPC Gajdos as teenagers. When I went down and enlisted he went with me, they told him no for various reasons, it took the army 7 years to realize their mistake. When I went to Iraq Shawn told me what was at the time the strangest thing to me I'm jealous, he wanted to be right there. He e-mailed me when he got in to let me know he finally made it probably one of the happiest days of his life. Shawn and I didn't see eachother again after I left in May of 2000, Reading his obituary here in Korea a year after he died I cry Shawn was a true friend and a great man.

RIP Brother

I was part of 4th platoon, D Co., 2-16 Rangers until 29 Sept. of '06.
I wish to God I was over there with those boys right now.
The last memory I have of Gajdos was sharing a bottle of Cabo Wabo Reposado in the barracks, just after his foot surgery.
RIP, man.
