Because I’m tired of seeing the last post on the top of my blog, here’s a quick post to say that I made it.
Now, for a short period of time my apartment in London is the center of the London Business School universe. No, this isn’t being vain - right now we have another world famous blogger, the Divine Miss N, whose name I’m not supposed to mention, staying with us. Our broadband supplier must now shake with fear that we’ll both have projects to procrastinate on in the next couple days.
The trip back has went well. Thanks to a quick nap on Friday afternoon and sleeping until 12.30pm yesterday the jet lag hasn’t went away that quickly (pretty much gone today).
Today I actually have to do homework for projects due back in New York; then tomorrow secondary research for the second year project followed by Grant’s arrival to town and us digging into our project on Tuesday.
Enough procrastination - time to, uh, get some more coffee.

My bags are packed; I’m ready to Go. Leaving on a jet-plane; don’t know when I’ll be back again … well, that last part isn’t actually true.
Assuming no problems with flights, etc I’ll be back in New York on the rd. I’m looking forward to getting back to London to see Alissa and spend some time back on campus - plus get a good start on the second year project - but the actual travelling part always gets me concerned.
Some people have no problems running late for airplanes; I am not one of these people. Thanks to continously revising my timetable, I normally get to airports hours and hours in advance. This is nice because it allows for problems with transportation, but once I get there and still have 4 hours before boarding it creates a lot of down time or just plane waisted time.
I’m fighting the urge with my flight tonight. This flight leaves at 8pm, so I don’t need to get there too early, but it’s always better to be safe than sorry.
It’s about that time…. cheerio

Despite the 4 day layoff, I still find myself working late into the evening on Monday. I honestly have no idea what the hell I did over the weekend, but at last there’s still more to do.
The irony is that I didn’t blow off all the time just watching TV and going out and actually remember doing work over the last few days but apparently not enough.
The big challenge of my life right now is getting my head around a concept called logic trees or issue trees. They are a technique for coming to grips with a giant strategic challenge and are often used in consulting. My professor in Competitive Strategy wants us to do one for our first paper, but has been less than clear on what and, more importantly, where they are used in the planning process.
Are they used to start the planning process for finding information or are they used somewhere else? This concept and the idea of hypothesis based inductive problem solving are both a dark art to me. The real challenge is that I completely understand the very simple and narrow examples given both in his class and the books I’ve found, but can’t quite figure out its use in every day life.
I over thinking this thing. I know it. I feel it. But, until I get my head around it the confusion and constant thinking continues. Order from chaos. That’s all I ask.
