Got about 10 minutes before I leave for the Charlotte Douglas Airport and board a plane returning to the UK. Can’t say I’ve gotten a lot of answers on this trip but may have found some good questions.
It’s 80 degrees in the queen city with a slight breeze. Firefox says it’s 52 degrees in London. Not too bad. Spring seems to be making its entrance.
On the road again
Just can’t wait to get on the road again
The life I love is makin’ music with my friends
And I can’t wait to get on the road again
On the road again
Goin’ places that I’ve never been
Seein’ things that I may never see again,
And I can’t wait to get on the road again.
On the road again
Like a band of gypsies we go down the highway
We’re the best of friends
Insisting that the world be turnin’ our way
And our way
Is on the road again
Just can’t wait to get on the road again
The life I love is makin’ music with my friends
And I can’t wait to get on the road again
On the road again
Like a band of gypsies we go down the highway
We’re the best of friends
Insisting that the world be turnin’ our way
And our way
Is on the road again
Just can’t wait to get on the road again
The life I love is makin’ music with my friends
And I can’t wait to get on the road again
And I can’t wait to get on the road again
See ya’ll in the old world … if you see the Queen tell her I said Du-huh, she’ll know what you mean.

Travel options allow everyone to hop on a train, board an airplane or rent a car to go home. Either to see parents or return to a favorite city from ones past. This has been my story over the last week.
Often, when I have a break at school or vacation time at work I have returned home to see friends and family. My trip this time has been a little different because in addition to seeing people I have been networking to see what opportunities exist for summer and ultimately post-MBA employment.
But can I go home? Should I go home? A famous author (whose name I can’t remember) once wrote that ‘you can never go home again’ and I truly believe that but can one go back and have a second shot? I can’t help but wonder if it’s like waving a flag of defeat in the eyes of, I don’t know, someone.
Now, I’m not looking to return to my home town or live with my parents. Specifically, I’m looking at the possibility of returning to Charlotte with Alissa after graduation. Sure, I’ll have the MBA and will most certainly not be working in charity (a requirement and objective) but the part I’m having trouble deciding is if this is what I want. Or, should Alissa and I head off to new pastures - New York City or maybe somewhere in California where everything is new - no one knows us and then forge our own way.
See, that has always been exciting to me. The past and the comfort of old faces, friends and places has been something I’ve always avoided but should it? I’ll (actually we) really need to make this decision in the near future.
Got to head off to dinner. Consider this a ‘to be continued …’

I’m currently relaxing at Connie’s watching a Spanish soap opera. To be honest, it’s a heck of a lot more engaging than English or American soaps. Currently, a little boy is cross dressing and was caught by his mom. Let’s just say it didn’t turn out well. The only thing I keep picking up is por favor (please) and a few Si’s. Everyone has to start somewhere.
Man, interesting show, same kid gets beaten up at school later. When he gets home, his mom sees him and has another go at him. Oh, oh, oh, it’s a flash back scene. I’m getting it now, he wrote a note to someone (lady crying) about all the things that have happened to him. Maybe he ran away.
These are the days of our lives.
New show: unhappy girl with parents who aren’t paying attention. Hey, at least I’ve now confirmed that soaps are the same, no matter what language.

#2 Texas is next. Good game last night but they looked a bit tired in the second half. That’s okay because we have a few days to rest up and prepare for Texas next weekend. Lost to those boys by 1 point the last time.
