Today is end of an era in the UK. Slam door trains are now no longer in use. The last one left Waterloo station earlier today.
For those of you who know the story of me flying out of one of these as it moved … enjoy. It’s hard for me to not spit everytime I think of these stupid little machines.

In a few minutes, I will walk down to the post office and send my HSBC loan application to the London Business School. Getting into school was pretty emotionally draining but nothing like writing out this loan app.
Two issues raised the bar: 1) Most of my original documents are at the Home Office as a I get my work visa renewed 2)Some of our accounts are in Australia and the United States; we don’t have originals because they are delivered to addresses within those countries.
The amount we are asking for is fairly reasonable and much lower than the maximum. My fear is that we don’t have all the paperwork in order and they reject us. This would be bad. Everything that can be done; has been done so it’s time to send this puppy for judgment.

I’m frantically preparing to submit my loan applications to HSBC for graduate school but wanted to take a few minutes to congratulate one of my best friends, Brad Barnett on receiving the Distinguished Service Key in Alpha Phi Omega.
The DSK is the highest award a chapter can bestow on one of its members or alumni. I can’t think of a person more deserving of the award. Brad is a wonderful person, hard worker and truly dedicated to APO.
For all of my college and alumni career Brad has worked diligently for the Lambda Omicron Chapter, Regionally and Nationally. He certainly earned it.
In Leadership, Friendship and Service:
Congratulations Brad!

The last few weeks have been very busy. The Royal event went very well, we saw Connie graduate from her Masters Program and I was finally accepted to the London Business School.
They actually called during the Royal event on May 5. I don’t want to sound vain or over confident but I thought it might occur on the 5th. Don’t know why but I just did.
My acceptance has set in motion a number of activities including but not limited to submitting my resignation at Hearing Concern (effective August 13) and looking for loans to pay for my two year educational experience. I’ve been told they aren’t expenses but investments in my future.
The loan process is fairly straight forward so far. HSBC has an agreement with LBS for its students. Alissa and I have crunched the numbers; assembled almost all of the papers and will be sending off the information on Tuesday.
Everything has moved so fast I’ve barely had enough time to consider what is happening. I would guess this is probably best.
