While working on the final report for HC Active, a thought occurred to me. Assuming evolution exists in some form or fashion and our senses exist because of this evolution then would hearing be mostly defensive?
Sight would be for curiosity/interest - let me see that?
Hearing for defense/protection - did you hear that?
the rest I haven’t sorted but if this idea is correct, it could explain why some people who lose their hearing become isolated and less confident. They have lost the sense originally designed for protection.
Just thinking on screen…

Got me an interview with the Irish for their MBA program. I’m not cheering just yet, but it’s good to get an ask … Might need to start memorizing some new lyrics. They will never take the place of the WVU fight song or Country Roads but when in South Bend …
“Cheer, cheer for Old Notre Dame
Wake up the echoes cheering her name,
Send the volley cheer on high,
Shake down the thunder from the sky,
What tho the odds be great or small
Old Notre Dame will win over all,
While her loyal sons are marching Onward to Victory.”
